Leo D. Shaffer was born in Altoona, Pa., ca.1904. He attended Soldiers' Orphans School, Chester Springs, Pa., and was graduated in 1922 from the Scotland School in Franklin County, Pa. Mr. Shaffer worked at various jobs in Pennsylvania and New York before moving to Detroit in 1930.
